The art of home surveillance and security is a traditional practice.  Ever since man was capable of taking property, there has been demand for protection of these valuables.

The final layer of home security is video monitoring.  For a long while cameras hooked into CCTV ( Closed Circuit television ) were the standard.  They were never much of a choice for the average homeowner.  But because of the advent of modern multimedia home PCs and smaller, less-expensive camcorders with wireless capability, monitoring the goings-on in and around your home is simpler and cheaper than ever before.  This option is good for those that live in giant houses with a few occupants, and not only want to stop and persecute break-ins, but want to keep an eye fixed on the children. 

Modern home surveillance and security systems are definitely better than ever , and cost a small fraction of what they actually did in recent years.  As technology evolves, so does the intruder, and so will the security.
