Yes, there is much you can do to prevent it, but no matter how prepared you are, there is no guarantee that your home will never burn down. If such a thing should happen, you’ll need to take some specific actions that may mitigate your losses and increase the possibility of prefenting the loss of, or replacing your lost property.

If a fire flares up in your house, the first thing you’ve got to do is escape. Many people who are clear thinkers under most circumstances will bog down with indecision when faced with something like a fire. Children are especially vulnerable to fear when it comes to fire. Their automatic response may be to hide in the house rather than escaping safely. In order to train everyone so their automatic response to a fire is the correct response, you’ve got to have a plan and train everyone to execute the plan if a fire breaks out.
